Research

How do environmental, behavioral, and social influences affect the relative risk of genetic factors? Which polymorphisms influence the risk of developing autoimmune diseases? What information can Long COVID reveal about autoimmunity? I’m eager to explore these questions as an MS student in genetic epidemiology at Johns Hopkins’ Bloomberg School of Public Health.

As a postbac fellow in Benjamin White’s neural function lab, I used genetic techniques to identify a population of neurons that initiate the adult ecdysis motor program in Drosophila melanogaster. As an undergraduate researcher in Jason Tennessen’s developmental metabolism lab, I worked to optimize a novel protocol to identify protein binding sites in Drosophila.
